A resident of Homewood, Illinois was stationed at Ft. Hood when a mass shooting broke out. He was shot three times. He is now recovering.
Private Najee Hull, 20, was preparing to be deployed to Afghanistan when he was allegedly shot by Major Nidal Malik Hasan. He was hit twice in the back and once in the knee, Hull told reporters.
Although doctors expect Hull to make a full recovery, the soldier is deeply shaken by the attack. He said he was "shocked and surprised ... that it happened on post, the place where I get dressed, the place I trust the most in my Army career." Hull was one of thirty people injured Thursday in the shooting spree. A total of thirteen people were killed; three of those were from the Chicagoland area.
