Saturday night, Nov. 7, the former Smiths frontman went off the stage in the middle of his second song, after being hit by a drink from the crowd.
Morrissey had been hit on the head by the plastic bottle of beer. As one witness, quoted by the Manchester Evening News, describes:
There was an explosion of beer. He then stood there for a few seconds before walking off stage. People were disappointed as he seemed to be on really good form but I think they were more annoyed with the idiot who threw the bottle rather than Morrissey.
The show has been stopped for around 15 minutes and then a member of the crew announced that singer is not going to perform any more and the concert would not continue.
Fans were disappointed. Guardian.co.uk quotes one of them, saying:
Everyone just turned to each other in disbelief. At £35 to £45 a ticket, all we got was one song and a half.
It was his second incident in recent time, two weeks ago Morrissey collapsed on stage and was taken to hospital during a concert in Swindon.
