As Scotland is now experiencing a second wave of pandemic flu and Scottish businesses are likely to experience disruption to services and potential losses in revenue, the Scottish Government decided to launch a website designed to help them.
An online flu seminar called "A Guide for Business: The 7 P's of Pandemic Planning," will be available Nov. 12, between 12:30 pm. and 1:30 pm.
The organization recommends people go to the webinar website five or 10 minutes beforehand.
As announced on the Scottish Government website:
The seminar will consist of a short presentation and an online Q&A session led by David Hutcheson representing the Institute of Directors (Scotland) and the Business Continuity Institute. (...) The online seminar will be recorded and placed on Scottish Government, Business Gateway and business organisations' websites, ensuring that the guidance continues to be available to businesses across Scotland.
The latest figures about the incidence of influenza A (H1N1) in Scotland, quoted by the Scottish Government website, are:
• As of November 02, there have been 691 people with influenza A (H1N1) hospitalised since the start of the outbreak. 135 people have required hospital admission in the last week and, as of yesterday, there were 82 in hospital in Scotland
• There have been 31 deaths linked to influenza A (H1N1) since the start of the outbreak
• There are currently no reports of abnormal school absence rates
