Sometimes criminals don't learn their lessons the first time around. In the case of this Oakland criminal trying to make a court date, he picked the wrong way to court.
Call it a case of irony or a prime nominee for the Darwin Awards, but this criminal added to his rap sheet by trying to subtract from it. Samuel Botchvaroff, an Oakland resident,
stole a car to make a court date.
Botchvaroff, 24, was due to report to a Vallejo, California court on Tuesday. With no way to make it there, Botchvaroff allegedly stole a vehicle in Oakland and drove the car. He made it to court on time.
The charge he was being arraigned for? Auto theft.
The California Highway Patrol was notified of the stolen vehicle. They tracked it to the courthouse. When Botchvaroff entered the car, he was subsequently arrested and placed into Solano County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and auto theft.
I’m guessing he won't get bail.
