The App Store has over 100,000 apps the company announced this week with the iPhone the leader of the pack for applications. The store has customers in 77 countries.
The most popular apps at the App Store deal with games with entertainment and books coming in for a strong second.
From music to travel there are now applications for almost every need a person may have on their phone.
Apple.com reports:
“The App Store, now with over 100,000 applications available, is clearly a major differentiator for millions of iPhone and iPod touch customers around the world,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The iPhone SDK created the first great platform for mobile applications and our customers are loving all of the amazing apps our developers are creating.”
The App Store averages 10,000 downloads a day.
Mashable reports that the store has had amazing growth since it opened in July 2008.
