Manny Pacquiao's coach and trainer Freddie Roach says the Filipino boxing icon will win by KO against Miguel Cotto because the Puerto Rican boxer is hittable and cannot last long with Pacquiao's power and speed.
Famous coach Freddie Roach says Miguel Cotto is hittable and any boxer who is hittable cannot last long with the power and speed of Manny Pacquiao.
Less that two weeks before the rumble in Las Vegas, Freddie Roach is still holding on to his bold prediction that Pacquiao will win against Cotto via first round KO of their 'Firepower' match in Las Vegas.
In a recent interview with David Tyler of doghouseboxing, he said he is aware of Cotto's 'weak' moments in response to Tyler's question about weak moments when the Puerto Rican boxer is tagged hard by his opponent. 'Of course. Unlike other fighters, Manny will recognize this and finish him off. This could happen early in the fight because Cotto will be hit early and often. In fact, I have already placed a big bet on the first round knock out'.
In the same interview, Roach said he has carefully studied Cotto's last fights and he knows the Puerto Rican boxer more than he knows himself. Roach says Manny Pacquiao is a better fighter than Cotto.
Back in the Philippines, one of the original members of Team Pacquiao predicts that the popular Filipino boxer will finish Cotto inside five rounds.
Moy Lainez who along with late Rod Nazario and Lito Mondejar, formed part of the original Team Pacquiao, said he is of the opinion that Miguel Cotto is no longer the same aggressive and powerful boxer that he was, after his devastating loss to Antonio Margarito. It was Cotto's first loss in his entire professional boxing career.
Margarito was believed to have used illegal plaster inserted inside the boxer's gloves by his handlers during the fight which led Cotto's handlers to believe why Cotto suffered his first devastating loss. After the fight, boxing fans thinks Cotto is no longer the same boxer that he was before his encounter with Margarito.
In the meantime, Team Cotto arrived in Las Vegas the other day from his Tampa Florida training camp to complete his last leg of training before he faces Manny Pacquiao on November 14.
Pacquiao on the other hand is holed up at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood to continue his training and conditioning exercises.
The Pacquiao-Cotto boxing match will take place at the MGM Grand Garden arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. At stake is Cotto's welterweight championship belt.
