It has been reported that Lockheed Martin, one of the leading military contract corporations, has been awarded a deal worth just under $500 million to build four fighter aircrafts and other production needs.
Last month, Digital Journal reported that Lockheed Martin was awarded $1.87 billion in contracts by the United States Navy over a three day period. On Thursday, the Pentagon released to the public that Lockheed Martin will be given another contract worth $474.2 million to produce four F-22 Fighter Aircrafts and other production related needs, according to Reuters.
It was also reported by Yahoo! Finance that the US Navy will give Lockheed Martin $7.4 million for its services on the Virginia class submarine, which will be completed by October 2010 and the work conducted will be performed in Florida and Virginia.
After being awarded billions of dollars worth of military contracts throughout the month of October, the Associated Press reported that Lockheed Martin’s third quarter profit rose 8 per cent to $2.07 per share.
