A 15 year old girl was raped Saturday night on the campus of Richmond High School. A senseless rape after a homecoming dance has put Richmond, California on the map. But where are the protesters? Where is the public outcry?
I have seen some people stand with signs blocking the streets and sidewalks because they don't want people to wear fur.
When a sex offender is released from prison and tries to move into a neighborhood, the protesters are there.
A 15-year-old girl is allegedly gang raped for more than two hours on a high school campus following a homecoming dance, but there are no protesters. What gives?
Reports allege the girl and some of the others at the scene were drinking, but that doesn't give any of those cowards a reason to do what they did.
This is a time when the people of Richmond should raise their voices and protest and let the world know they are not going to take this anymore.
As a matter of fact, the rest of us should say and do the same thing. How can we not say or do anything? This crime is horrific. For those other people who were at the scene and watched and did nothing about it, they are as bad as the ones who participated in the rape.
I hope something positive will come out of this terrible situation. The young girl will need prayers and a lot of therapy. Anyone who has daughters, nieces and female friends should really be concerned about this. Let's hope the lawmakers and politicians do something about this. Meanwhile, we can all protest and help stop this heinous crime of rape.
