New TV series 'Courage in Red' gives behind-the-scenes look at RCMP

The RCMP are promising a thrill a minute in a television documentary series about the work of the iconic national police force. The RCMP say they granted unparalleled access to documentary makers to show Canadians the new challenges in policing.

The RCMP say a series of documentaries will give the Canadian public a rare insider's look into the operations of the force. Filmed in locations throughout Canada and overseas, the first episode of the television documentary series titled "Courage in Red" will air on Nov. 1 on Outdoor Life Network (OLN.) "Filmed in locations throughout Canada and overseas, Courage in Red profiles the diverse and very real world of policing," said Sgt. Pat Flood who was project coordinator working with Jencor Entertainment. Jencor approached the RCMP with the idea for a documentary series. "The series profiles everything from specialized units such as the Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Police Dog Service, VIP Protection, and the West Coast Marine Service to the examination of tough subjects like the challenges of youth today, preparing for potential school shootings, Clan Labs and contraband smuggling," he said. “Working together with Jencor Entertainment, we really wanted to show Canadians the kind of situations our police officers find themselves in day and night across the country” said Flood. “It’s not often the public get to see what real police work is like.” he said.
