Florida Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson was recently interviewed on a radio station and he, once again, made controversial statements by calling a Federal Reserve Senior Adviser a "k street whore."
Last week,
Digital Journal reported that Alan Grayson called former Vice-President Dick Cheney a vampire after his remarks about President Barack Obama “dithering” on his decision to send an additional 40,000 troops to Afghanistan. Also, according to
Fox News, Grayson called the current health care crisis a “Holocaust in America.” He was later reprimanded by the Anti-Defamation League.
Once again, Grayson has made the headlines after calling Federal Reserve Senior Adviser Linda Robertson a “k street whore.”
Grayson appeared on the
Alex Jones Radio Show on the Genesis Communications Network in Austin, Texas, according to
The Washington Times and stated, “This lobbyist, this K street whore, is trying to teach me about economics. This K street whore is trying to teach me about economics.”
Jones, a documentary filmmaker and radio show host, asked repeatedly who the woman he was referring to and Grayson responded, “I don’t remember her name. This was several months ago, but you can look it up, the lobbyist who was the head lobbyist for Enron was hired with our taxpayer money to try and spend this office effort to try and get transparency at the Federal Reserve.”
Jones later confirmed who the adviser Grayson was referring to.
Politico reports that spokesperson for the Democratic Congressman, Todd Jurkowski, claims that he actually referred to the second definition to the word whore, which means she sold her soul for financial gain, “The attack was on her professional career, not her personal life. The second definition of ‘whore’ in the American Heritage Dictionary is 'A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.”
Grayson’s colleagues are rather upset with him over his comments such as Nevada Democratic Congresswoman Dina Titus who said the remarks were “sexist” and “extreme.” Anthony Weiner, New York Democratic Representative, believes Grayson is “one fry short of a happy meal.” However, he did recant his remark after speaking with the former Economist.
