A tragic crime scene where a two-year-old girl was discovered by a border collie cross called Rusty has arisen in New Zealand.
According to information found on doglinks.blogspot.com and nzherald.co.nz when Aisling Syme's went missing, Rex Wahrlich wanted to help in the search to find her. Saddened by the news of the missing toddler, Wahrlich joined the search in Riverpark Cres with his border collie cross, Rusty.
Two days after the toddler went missing on October 7th, Wahrlich spent 5 hours searching the area for her. His search was not successful, until 5 days after when he returned to the area with his pet dog. Aisling was last seen on Longburn Road, the area in which Rusty the dog first started acting in a bizare way. Rusty started sniffing the drain and acted peculiar in that particular area.
Although Rusty had never met this innocent 2 year old he seemed to have, what could be called a 6th sense. Rusty seemed to know that Aisling's body was buried in the drain. Yet owner Wahrlich, didn't realise that his dog would find the evidence for this terrible crime that had no sense or reason. The drain after all was flooded and gave no clues that something so precious could be found below. Instead, Wahrlich took Rusty away from the scene and walked towards Pomaria Road. How could anyone know why the drain was blocked? It just seemed like a normal occurrence. The drain was over flowing when Rusty started behaving madly. He was jumping up and barking loudly at the drain. When Wahrlich finally let him off his chain he ran right down to where the drain was over flowing. When Wahrlich contacted the police to let them know it needed investigating, the police were not very interested.
Finally after Wahrlich reported the incidence to the council, police decided to investigate later that day. At 8p.m that day, police discovered Aisling's body.
theage.com.au reports that Pathologists prepare to carry out a post mortem on Aisling Symes body that was removed from the drain at 1.30a.m in New Zealand. Police have recieved a large amount of criticsm over Aisling's body due to people questioning if they searched the area properly.
