Nancy Lopez Golf is in its third year as a pink partner of the Golf Fore the Cure, a program run by the Royal Canadian Golf Association. The program is a Canadian fund raising initiative to benefit breast cancer research and support programs.
Since the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) program's start in 2004 Golf Fore the Cure has raised over $2.5 million in the fight against breast cancer.
This year sponsor Nancy Lopez Golf's Pink Ribbon Collection will be donating 10 percent of the value of online purchases to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Golf Fore the Cure is the largest grassroots recreational golf program for women in Canada. By combining love of the game of golf with a partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society members have been able to raise money for a very worthy cause.
More than 16,000 women have been exposed to the game of golf through the fundraising efforts of Golf Fore the Cure, in this year alone. This year alone there have been 216 Golf Fore the Cure events held throughout Canada this year.

I interviewed program coordinator Jessica Small about the project. Ms. Small said that participants have the option to have donations raised go to breast cancer research that takes place across the country or programs that provide information and support in their local community through the Canadian Cancer Society or the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation in Quebec.
"In 2009 Golf Fore the Cure raised over $800,000 for the fight against breast cancer," Small said.
I asked Ms. Small what she most enjoys about working on Golf Fore the Cure with the RCGA.
"It’s very rewarding knowing that your everyday efforts are contributing towards making a difference in the lives of other Canadian women that are facing such a terrible disease. It’s incredible to see the amount of effort and planning site coordinators put into each of their events to raise funds and awareness in their local communities in support of this common cause. "
