With today's technology advancing, it is now possible for a computer to drive your car. The latest gadget is called idriver. Read on to find out more.
There are many inventions today that at one point would never have seemed possible. The iDriver is one of these inventions that has the ability of transferring the iPhone into a video game controller. Rather than steering the vehicle by hand, the driver would drive it via their iPhone. This means that when driving a car, a person can use their phone to accelerate, brake and steer the wheel. Fascinating, hey? The Telegraph reports that this technology was created by the Appirion company that creates first class equipment for mobile phones.
The iDriver works by sending instructions via the Wi-Fi to a specially rigged vehicle, this allows the car driver to control the vehicle from a distance. The car can be driven through the help of a live video stream from a camera on the roof of the vehicle. It is a neat accessory and appeals to those that love cutting edge technology. Although the iDriver is not available to purchase yet, it looks like it will be highly successful, generating a lot of sales for the company. It was created by researchers at the Free University of Berlin using artificial intelligence technology.
Engadget.com explains that although this concept isn't entirely original it is a new accessory available to Apple's Smartphone. The original device was not made by the same company and was available only on the PSP, the former invention was only capable of controlling a Civic. The best advantage with the new iDriver is that it is able to drive a heavy vehicle, up to a two ton minivan.
