Andrew Lloyd Webber diagnosed with prostate cancer

Award-winning composer and producer of dozens of musicals, Andrew Lloyd Webber, has been diagnoed with prostate cancer, according to his spokesperson who released the news on Sunday.

Famous composer and producer of one of the most celebrated musicals in the history of music “Phantom of the Opera,” Andrew Lloyd Webber, has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, reports CNN. His spokesperson stated in London at the public relations firm Brown Lloyd James, “The condition is in its very early stages. Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.” The Mirror reports that Webber has vowed to continue working on his sequel and stated in triumphant fashion, “The show WILL go on.” He has told close friends that he will be back on the production set by the end of the year. According to The Independent, prostate cancer affects 35,000 men per year in the United Kingdom and killing just over 10,000. The 61-year-old lives in Kensington and is the 52nd most richest entertainer in the world with $1.1 billion. Digital Journal reported earlier this month that he is creating a “Phantom of the Opera” sequel entitled “Love Never Dies.” According to BBC News, Webber owns seven London theaters including the London Palladium. Webber has produces such musicals as “Evita”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Starlight Express.” In 1992, he was knighted. In 1997, Webber received the Academy-Award for best song in “Evita.” Next year, he will create a new theatrical production of “Wizard of Oz.”
