Jail Inmates Charged with Raping Fellow Prisoner

A prisoner yesterday accused seven inmates of threatening him with a knife before raping him. The offense occurred in July and the 24- year old said he had reported this to the police.

The Syrian complainant who was serving a one-year jail term for theft in Al Aweer prison in Dubai, claimed that his inmates forced him to have sex against his will. He was later moved to solitary confinement and the claim was proved true by the forensic laboratory report, which confirmed he was raped several times. According to Gulf News, the complainant has already been deported, and all seven inmates will face trial at the criminal court.
