Ras Al Khaimah, one of UAE's seven emirates has caught a gang that has been using fraud credit cards pretending to buy or sell mobile phones and gold.
According to Gulf News, the investigation set off after RAK Criminal Investigation Department received several complaints from shop owners. The gang members were put under surveillance and were found to be operating in different areas.
Ajman, another UAE emirate, cooperated with Ras Al Khaimah and issued a warrant to arrest the suspects at their home, where forged credit cards were seized.During the time of the arrest, the gang's alleged chief was said to be staying at a RAK hotel. The hotel was monitored until he was arrested.
Police say they found 40 credit cards in his room, laptops, and a professional device used for copying and stealing information from a credit card's magnetic tape before matching it with new fake cards. Some of the gang members were found to be illegal residents, as reported in Gulf News.
