Oct 22, 2009 - Robber repents, breaks into tears - 3 comments
“Hands up! Your money or your life,” is the usual demand from robbers, not we’ll pray together before I separate you from your money.
Tearful pleas from a clerk in an Indianapolis, Indiana, check-cashing business temporarily brought the suspect to his knees and prompted him to take a 10-minute time-out to pray with the woman, police said.
Caught on security tape was a 23-year-old armed robber attempting to hold up a branch of Advance America and clearly showed the man’s face, police said.
The armed robbery took and “unusual turn” when the female employee began crying and talking about god.
The alleged robber took pity on the clerk and told her he has a two-year-old child to support and asked her to pray with him to help him overcome his hardships, police said.
At the end of the makeshift prayer service he allegedly took $20 from the cash drawer and her cell phone and gave her the one bullet in his gun before making his escape, police said.
The unidentified robber later surrendered to police.
