Two-time World 9-Ball Champion Efren 'Bata' Reyes will lead a contingent of 9-Ball Pool players from the Philippines to the 34th US 9-Ball Championship on October 18-24 at Chesapeake Conference Center in Virginia
Popular Filipino world pool champion Efren 'Bata' Reyes will lead a Filipino contingent of 9-Ball Pool players to the 34th US 9-Ball Championship to be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Virginia, USA on October 18- 24, 2009.
According to BilliardPhilippines.com, Reyes will be joining comrades Ronnie “Volcano” Alcano, Warren Kiamco, Francisco “Django” Bustamante, Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan, Dennis “Robocop” Orcollo and Jose “Amang” Parica.
Also vying for the title are Roberto “Superman” Gomez, Ramil “Bebeng” Gallego, Marlon “Marvelous” Manalo, Ramon “Maestro Monching” Mistica, Santos “The Saint” Sambajon and Al Lapena.
The U.S.Open is The Longest Run and Most Prestigious 9-Ball Event in the world. The field is limited to 256 Players. Entry is $600.00, Added Monies is $100,000 with full field of 256.
Efren 'Bata' Reyes is a professional pool player from Angeles City, Philippines and a two-time world champion. Reyes is popularly known as the 'Magician'. In the Philippines he is better known as 'Bata' a tagalog word for kid.
As a player in professional pool, Reyes has been known to have won a number of money-rich tournaments worldwide. This makes him one of the most profitable players around.
Aside from playing pool, Reyes is a part time actor. He is also a popular commercial model and has done a number of commercials for San Miguel Beer, one of the world's famous beers.

On June 15, 2008, Efren "Bata" Reyes, Francisco "Django" Bustamante and 2007 Women's Amway World Pool Championships finalist Rubilen "Bingkay" Amit will begin photography and had been cast to star with American Jennifer Barretta in and independent film, "9-Ball," at Universal Studios. This movie will be directed and produced by Main Street Production's Anthony Palma, with Ralph Clemente as executive producer.
