Lady Plays With Pit Bull, Texas Cop Shoots Them Both

A lady was playing with her neighbor's pit bull, as she often does. An overzealous La Marque, Texas cop thought she was being attacked and shot the dog and shot her in the chest.

Click2Houston.com reports that a young lady was playing with her neighbors pit bull in La Marque, Texas. A female cop saw this and misinterpreted the situation, thinking that the lady was being attacked. She opened fire on the dog and ended up shooting the lady in the chest. A witness said,

"The young lady started hollering and just at that time a police officer was coming down and thought the dog was attacking the lady," witness Dennis Wallace said. "I can't say that I would do anything different. The lady (the officer) drew down and started shooting. I couldn't say I wouldn't have done that."

The dog and the lady were wounded and are in stable condition. Both are expected to recover. La Marque police had no comment.
