The Swiss government will make a decision this week whether or not they will release filmmaker Roman Polanski from prison.
The Swiss Justice Ministry will decide this week if they will accept the request to release Roman Polanski from prison, according to
USA Today.
Polanski was arrested on Sept. 26 as he arrived to a Zurich Film Festival that was honoring the director. He was taken into custody from a 1970's sex charge in which he pleaded guilty.
Ministry spokesperson Folco Galli also said an appeal was filed by Polanski’s legal team was different from a court case it filed last week, however, if the appeal succeeds then he will be immediately released, according to
Taragana.
It is possible Polanski could be on bail or under house arrest in Switzerland, but experts believe a quick release is unlikely.
