Apple Tablet rumours abound again, possible May release date

New rumours have surfaced over Apple's much-hyped about Tablet device, this time in relation to the launch date and official announcement of the product.

According to iLounge's source, we can expect to hear about the device for the first time officially from Apple on or around January 19, 2010 and will look similar to an iPhone and run the iPhone OS.

There have been reports that it looks like an iPhone. They’re sort of true. It looks like an iPhone 3G, complete with a curved back.

iLounge says.

It will come in two different variations: one with 3G networking capabilities, and one without 3G networking capabilities. Think of the 3G version as a big-screen iPhone 3GS, and the non-3G version as a big-screen iPod touch.

As for the size of the device's screen, the site claims that it will possibly be a 10.7 inch screen, with a touchable area of almost 7 times more than the iPhone or iPod Touches. iLounge's source says the company is waiting on Steve Jobs to approve the device, which supposedly has a 80% chance of hitting the market.
