An audience members ringing mobile phone caused the actors Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman to stop a performance of the Broadway play in which they both star.
During the preview performance last week of the play,
A Steady Rain, secretly filmed footage of the incident shows Hugh Jackman telling the audience member to answer the ringing phone,
BBC News reports.
Jackman is seen saying, "We can wait." and, "Don't be embarrassed - just grab it."
Both of the actors managed to remain in character throughout the entire incident.
The secretly filmed footage was obtained by
TMZ, the showbiz website and then was posted onto
YouTube.
The play officially opens this week in New York and sees Wolverine star, Hugh Jackman and James Bond star, Daniel Craig both playing Chicago policemen who are childhood friends and whose lives were changed forever by a tragic chain of events.
The play by Keith Huff is being performed at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and tickets for it are among the hottest on Broadway.
Jackman and Craig are not the first stars to react to a ringing mobile phone during a performance.
In 2004 actor Richard Griffiths ordered a man out of the National Theatre during a performance of
The History Boys after his phone repeatedly went off.
The following year a female audience member at a performance of
Heroes in London's West End found herself being reprimanded by the same star for allowing her phone throughout the show.
