article imageHe's Still Got It: Favre Leads Vikings to Win in Dramatic Fashion

By Dustin Pollack     Sep 27, 2009 in Sports
With 10 seconds left in the 4th quarter and the Minnesota Vikings down by three to the San Francisco 49ers, Viking quarterback Brett Favre gave Minnesota fans a little magic.
With the ball on the San Francisco 32 yard line, Favre aired it out to receiver, Greg Lewis who was in double coverage. Lewis leaped somehow came down with the ball in the back of the endzone and was able to drag his right foot down for a touchdown.
The touchdown pass capped off an 80 yard drive that had the Vikings march from their own 20 yard line in just 87 seconds.
Favre's touchdown pass was his second on the day, put his passing yards to just over 300 in the game and improved the Vikings record to 3-0 in the 2009-2010 season.
The 49ers saw star running back Frank Gore go down early in the game with an ankle injury after only rushing the ball once for four yards. Gore was coming off an incredible game against the Seattle Seahawks where he rushed for 207 yards.
The loss is the 49ers' first of the season as they fall to 2-1.
Next Monday night Favre will be at the center of attention when the Vikings take on his former team the Green Bay Pakers.
