On Friday, the production of the "Tonight Show" came to a halt because, during a stunt, host Conan O'Brien hit his head and immediately went to the hospital.
The newest “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien was sent to the hospital on Friday after he hit his head during a stunt. NBCwould not confirm his status nor his condition but O’Brien said in a statement, according to The Canadian Press, “Last thing I remember I was enjoying the play with Mrs. Lincoln, and the next thing I knew I was in bed being served cookies and juice.”
This accident is reminiscent of Jay Leno when he gained a high fever and an unspecified illness, which caused him to check himself into a hospital. Leno’s illness came near the end of his 17 years being the host.
NBCdid not release any information on plans for next week’s shows. According to The Associated Press, NBCwas to air a repeat of the "Tonight Show" on Friday.
Conan, 46, took over from Jay Leno in June and the network’s decision was in hopes of drawing a younger audience. This latest responsibility is weighing quite heavily on Conan’s shoulders.
