The Presidential election is more than three years away and speculations of Republican presidential candidates is running amok. Possible contenders range from Mitt Romney to Ron Paul to Sarah Palin.
On Friday, like-minded Conservative activists will gather together in Washington, D.C., according to
CNN, for a weekend conference to discussing a variety of topics such as "Global Warming Hysteria," "Thugocracy: Fighting The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" and the most anticipated event "2012 Presidential Straw Poll."
The fourth annual conference will also discuss strategy for the 2010 Congressional elections, which will have several speeches from candidates and Conservative leaders such as South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Texas Governor Rick Perry and a large amount of others.
Possible 2012 Republican presidential candidates on the ballot are former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who won February’s straw poll at the
Conservative Political Action Conference, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, who is the former Senator of Pennsylvania, and others.
Palin was invited to the event but she never confirmed if she would be attending.
Results of the straw poll will be released on Saturday.
