The authorities said on Friday that Indonesia will return the body of the terror mastermind, Noordin M Top, to Malaysia.
The National Police Spokesman, Nanan Soekarna, said that the Malaysian government and Noordin Top’s family have requested his body so he can be buried in Malaysia.
“We will complete his (Noordin’s) DNA test today and hand the body over to the foreign ministry which will arrange to return it to Malaysia,” said Nanan.
Noordin, a 41-year-old Malaysian who led a violent splinter faction of the Jemaah Islamiyah radical network, was killed along with three militants at the bloody end of a nine-hour siege in a village in Solo, Central Java, Thursday (9/17).
Meanwhile, Putri Munawaroh is still recovering from a gunshot wound sustained during the raid.
Putri, who is seven months pregnant, was the wife of terror suspect Hadi Susilo, the man who rented the house where the raid took place. Hadi Susilo himself was killed in the raid.
