New rumours suggest that the now infamous Apple tablet may make an appearance sometime in February next year, and retail between $799 to $999.
After the Wall Street Journal reported earlier last month that
Steve Jobs is reportedly putting all his focus on the Apple Tablet, it appears that we will in fact see the device sometime in early 2010 according to an article on Taiwanese site
Taiwan Economic News.
According to the
site, the device will feature a 9.6-inch screen, finger-touch function and built-in HSPDA (high speed download packet access) module, a P.A. SEMI processor chip and a longer lasting battery pack with the price expected to be in the $799 to $999 bracket.
The report also goes on to state where many of the major parts for the device will come from, with the DynaPack International Technology Corp.reportedly to provide 300,000 battery packs whilst Wanshih Electronic Co. Ltd will manufacture approximately 70 per cent of the Tablets mini coaxial cables. Layers Scientific-Technics Co., Ltd. will provide the power chokes, and Wintek Corp. will play the all important role of providing the touchscreens.
It should be noted that P.A. SEMI, the chipmaker for most Apple products, was recently bought out by Apple, and it's thought that the company has been restructured into two teams - one for the iPhone/iPod Touch and one for the Tablet.
