'Dirty Dancing' and 'Ghost' star Patrick Swayze has died at the age of 57 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
The actor's publicist Annett Wolf has
said that the actor died at home on Monday with his family by his side.
He went public with his illness last spring but continued working despite the illness while receiving treatments.
His best known roles include the 1987 film "Dirty Dancing" where he played Johnnie Castle and the 1990 film "Ghost" where he played alongside Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
He was described by
People magazine in 1991 as their "sexiest man alive".
Patrick Swayze married his wife Lisa Niemi in 1975 and it's said they were working on their memoirs.
They had no children.
