Pregnant teen fatally shot in head at NC school bus stop

Fifteen-year-old Tiffany Wright was shot once in the head while waiting for her school bus Monday morning. The pregnant teen died at a hospital. Her baby girl was delivered and is in critical condition. An update on suspect is included.
The North Carolina News Network reports that Tiffany Wright, 15, was fatally shot in the head Monday morning. Wright was 32 weeks pregnant, and doctors were able to deliver the infant who is now at a hospital in Charlotte.
The AP reports that Wright “died after being rushed to a hospital” and that the baby is in critical condition.
Wright was shot one time in the head just prior to 6:00am as she was waiting for her school bus. Wright’s foster mother walked her to the bus stop and then started back home. After hearing gunshots, Wright’s foster mother returned to find the teenager in the street.
Rob Tufano, a police spokesman, told the AP that “the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute, and investigators are searching for a suspect.”

Update: The Charlotte Observer reports that a suspect in Tiffany Wright's shooting has turned himself in to police Monday afternoon. The suspect's name was not given. The baby girl remains in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center.
