A child bride in Yemen has died after being in labor for three days. The 12-year-old suffered from severe bleeding after delivering a stillborn infant on Friday.
Fawziya Abdullah Youssef was just 11 when her father married her off to a 24-year-old farmer in Saudi Arabia.
Yemen has been in the news for child brides in recent years. More than a quarter of the nation's girls marry before their fifteenth birthday.
Fawziya's death was reported by the
Associated Press after a local human rights group reported on it on Saturday.
