Between September 10 and 19, moviegoers and fans pack the streets of Yorkville to get a small glimpse of their favorite celebrity but it is tricky and a hard thing to do. Welcome to the chaos of the Toronto International Film Festival.
The city of Toronto will be packed with celebrities over the next ten days. Stars ranging from Matt Damon and George Clooney to Michael Douglas and Megan Fox will be promoting their latest motion picture at the
Toronto International Film Festival.
But is it even possible to see these stars in person? Many fans wait for hours just to see a two second glimpse of a movie star but sometimes that doesn’t even happen for many reasons.
According to one security guard, who was securing a back exit where many film executives left and where everyone got to see Michael Douglas exit, sometimes the actors create diversions and they go to some other restaurant, exit another way or just quickly hurry to their escort.

Other problems occur when fans think their favorite star is in a restaurant or a hotel. People who pass by the barricades of people often ask who is waiting and one person says one person, while another says someone else. When the truth is they’re waiting for no one.
On Friday evening, in front of the Four Seasons hotel, where Digital Journal saw the lovely Emily Mortimer, teenage girls thought they were going to see the Jonas Brothers but the fact was they went out some other exit because the famous music group were in the restaurant next to the Four Seasons.

Sadly, Emily Mortimer leaves her hotel at the Four Seasons but nobody recognizes her except for myself. She looked at me with sadness (at least that's how interpret it).

Another point the security guard made was that while fans endlessly wait and watch for one door, another celebrity just walks on by without being noticed. Nevertheless, it is still possible to see a celebrity when you’re least expecting it; as soon as Digital Journal left the huge crowd at the restaurant, actor Marlon Wayans walked by me. Another example, while fans were waiting for George Clooney to leave, Matt Damon’s co-star in the new film ‘The Informant!’, Melanie Lynskey, and Kenny from the hit CBC show ‘Kenny vs. Spenny’ all passed us by.

Fans waiting patiently, sometimes for hours, to see their favorite film star but at times many do not show up because they enter, or leave, some other way. Majority will not even get a glimpse for more than three seconds.

Nevertheless, keep your eyes open and you may see a celebrity, or better yet have a picture of the big Hollywood star. Some advice: if you're in a restaurant with an actor, do not follow him or her to the washroom. The one security guard said that movie stars can't stand when someone follows them into the washroom and asks for autographs.
