Online service Twitter unveiled updates to its Terms of Service on their blog, making an emphasis that your "Tweets belong to you, and not Twitter."
A focus on advertising, ownership, the Twitter API's and spamming of the service has been placed on the new Terms of Service (ToS), and it seems Twitter is taking a page out of Facebook's past, allowing users to comment on the new conditions and provide feedback to the service.
On Twitter's blog, CEO Biz Stone, said, "Now that we know more about how Twitter is being used, we've made changes to our Terms of Service—these are the basic rules that go along with using Twitter. Fostering an open and increasingly important network is not as easily dismissed as it once was—but it's still fun!"
Stone says Twitter will be emailing all users and developers about the changes soon, but the new update certainly leaves the door wide open for advertising on Twitter, as the company seems to be making moves to become profitable.
You can view the new ToS here.
