When an Ormond Beach, Florida man popped open a can of Pepsi recently the last thing he expected to be gulping down were the remains of a gutted frog.
Ormond Beach resident Fred DeNegri and his wife Amy were simply enjoying themselves, grilling some food in his tiki bar in the backyard when taking a gulp from a can of Diet Pepsi quickly started his gag reflex reports
Associated Content. It occurred July 23.
Immediately realizing there was something wrong with the Pepsi he went inside his home and emptied the contents down the drain but found there was still something heavy inside the can.
His wife Amy took over investigating the can at this point, shook up the contents and poured it onto a paper paper plate. She poured out what resembled "pink linguini" followed by "dark stuff", she said. "It was disgusting."
The DeNegri's took photos of the can and the unknown material and called Poison Control and the FDA who showed up the next day to investigate the matter. The FDA took the samples to their lab to be tested.
Food and Drug Administration Office of Regulatory Affairs gave their report to the couple last week. It concluded that the foreign matter appeared to be a frog or a toad noting, "The animal was lacking internal organs normally found in the abdominal and thoracic cavity,"
reports CNN.

In an interview with Amy DeNegri this afternoon she said, "What's very sad about this right now is the way Pepsi is making us look like we're lying. It's very disturbing."
The FDA has also investigated the Pepsi bottling plant in Orlando but has come up with nothing in regards to how the contamination occurred.
As CNN reported, Pepsi says the FDA tests affirmed the company's confidence "in the quality of our products and the integrity of our manufacturing system," according to spokesman Jeff Dahncke.
The DeNegri's are now are seeking legal advice to examine their options. They want to be compensated for drinking the animal in this can of Diet Pepsi.
