article imageJenna Bush Hager Going To Today Show

By KJ Mullins     Aug 31, 2009 in Entertainment
The daughter of former President George W. Bush, 27, has landed a gig with the Today Show. Jenna Bush Hager will start her new job as a correspondent on September 14.
Bush Hager will be based out of Washington D.C. covering human interest stories.
Bush Hager was an elementary school teacher for a time while her father was in office. She then joined UNICEF. She is also the author of the book Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope.
It is unlikely that Bush Hager will be covering politics and her role as 'first kid' will not be discussed. While as the daughter of President Bush she spent little time actually residing in the White House herself. It appears she wants to look forward and focus more on stories that will touch the hearts of the viewers.
Bush is expected to cover a story a month for the morning show. There's no word as to if Bush Hager will be giving up her day job as a public school teacher in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Frisky quotes Bush Hager about her views of obtaining the coveted position.
“It wasn’t something I’d always dreamed to do. But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change.”
