In Turkey on Thursday, it was announced that four people were killed, 12 were slightly injured and five were seriously injured in a train crash.
According to Turkish State Railways, 4 people were killed when the Cumhuriyet (Republic) Express hit a road works machine due "to the machine’s uncontrolled and unauthorized access to the railroad area," reports CNN.
Rescue crews immediately arrived on the scene and have cleared most of their work at the scene of the crash. The crash took place between Karakoy and Ayvali in Bilecik province in western Turkey, according to one Turkish State Railways official.
The reports are preliminary and further details will be released soon.
