article imageWSJ says Steve Jobs is putting all his focus on Apple Tablet

A report on the Wall Street Journal website today claims that Apple's CEO Steve Jobs has put all his effort into a new 'touch screen device' since returning from medical leave in late June.
In what would seem to further provoke rumors that we will soon see the release of an Apple Tablet, the Wall Street Journal claims that its sources tell it that those working on the device are working under the scrutiny of Jobs himself.
Those working on the project are under intense scrutiny from Mr. Jobs, particularly with regard to the product's advertising and marketing strategy, said one of these people.
The WSJ also says that the Tablet idea has been shut down twice so far.
“But development has come in fits and starts. Mr. Jobs killed the project twice in recent years, the first time because the battery life was too short, and the second time because there was insufficient memory.”
This latest report seems to confirm that we will soon see indeed a new product on the Apple line, likely to be called something along the lines of an iTablet or Macbook Tablet. The news also comes on the back of todays announcement that Apple's Snow Leopard is coming sooner than expected, on the 28th August.
