Michael Rafferty, one of the accused in the Victoria Stafford murder case in Ontario, will plead not guilty says his lawyer. He has been in detention since late May.
CTV reports that Rafferty will be pleading not guilty when he goes to court on September 25. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the case.
Dirk Derstine confirmed that his client will not admit guilt in the murder of young Victoria Stafford.
The young girl's remains were discovered in Mount Forest in July.
Rafferty is being held in a detention center in London, Ontario.
His lawyer does not expect the trial to begin until 2011 because of the vast amount of evidence that has to be gone through.
