The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume certain Sprouts Alive brand products described below because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.
All best before date codes up to and including August 28, 2009 of the following products are affected:

Sprouts Alive Baby Onion Sprouts 70 g (2.5 oz) 0 69022 00032 0
Sprouts Alive Alfalfa & Onion Sprouts 130g 0 69022 00039 9
The best before date is shown in one of the following formats: "Best Before dd mm yy", "EX mmm dd yy", or "EX mm dd yy". For example, a best before date of August 28, 2009 could appear as "Best Before 28 AU 09", "EX AUG 28 09", or "EX 08 28 09".
These products have been distributed in Alberta, however, they may also have been distributed in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
There have been reported illnesses.
The manufacturer, Living Foods Ltd., Innisfail, AB, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.
