George Michael has been detained by police and faced five hours questioning after his Land Rover collided with a lorry in Berkshire. The singer had hit the headlines before after a similar incident.
The 46 year old singer was arrested because it was thought he may have been driving under the influence of drink or drugs. He was later freed without any charges.
Reports say George Michael was taken to the Loddon Valley police station which is based near Reading after the crash which happened on Friday.
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley police has since confirmed that he had been allowed to leave after questioning.
George Michael was arrested in 2007 and banned from driving after admitting to being unfit to drive during an incident in June that year..
The singer had also received two cautions from police for possessing cannabis.
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley police told the BBC:
The driver of the Land Rover, a 46-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody,"
"He was later released without charge."
George Michael has since said that he was sober at the time of the crash and told those close to him not to be worried.
One the BBC website Michael is quoted as saying:
"Neither of us was charged because we were both stone cold sober.
"We both think the other is to blame so this is just an insurance fight.
"I don't want my fans or my family worried by what they are reading all over again."
