During Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 11-day tour in Africa, she will be required to answer questions in a respectful and intelligent manner. On one occasion, she did not.
Hillary Clinton, the former 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidate, showed a rare moment of anger when a student from Congo asked her a question regarding her husband Bill Clinton.
Clint was at an open forum with young people in Kinshasha, which is a university in Democratic Republican of Congo, when a student asked about the involvement of China and the World Bank in Congo, “What does Mr. Clinton think about it?” The Secretary of State vehemently replied, “You want to know what my husband think? My husband is not the secretary of state, I am. You ask my opinion; I will tell you my opinion. I'm not going to channel my husband.”
Former President Bill Clinton did not accompany his wife during her African tour because he has not gotten involved in his wife’s affairs since she began her tenure as Secretary of State however, the former President did release two journalists from North Korea last week.
Clinton’s main objective throughout her tour is to promote women’s rights and will meet survivors of sexual violence in Congo. She told the audience that she will press President Joseph Kabila to take action against those who commit such atrocious acts, “We are now in the 21st century. It is no longer acceptable for there to be violence against women in the home or in the community. People need to stand together against it. I hope that here in the DRC there will be a concerted effort to demand justice for women who are violently attacked and to make sure that their attackers are punished.”
Update: The translator did not translate the question correctly and instead meant what does President Obama think?
