article imageNDN President: Get Lou Dobbs Off CNN

By Andrew Moran     Aug 7, 2009 in Politics
Left-wing groups want Lou Dobbs fired from CNN. The latest group, the National Democratic Network, want him fired and reporting on Fox News.
President of the National Democratic Network Simon Rosenberg wants Lou Dobbs thrown off CNN and to go to Fox News. This is the latest from many groups who have recently called for Dobbs to be fired over his remarks over U.S. President Barack Obama’s birth certificate
“I hope that one thing we can all agree with today is that it’s time to get Lou Dobbs off CNN and put him on FOX where he belongs, I think – just like Glenn Beck. I mean, I think Glenn Beck has paved the trail for Lou Dobbs, and I hope that we can see him go,” Rosenberg said in front a discussion panel on immigration reform.
Rosenberg went on further and harshly criticized the Republican Party by calling them “out of touch” and having a playbook of “exploiting fear.”
“Their core play in their playbook was the exploitation of racial fear. That’s different from racism. I’m not arguing that the Republicans have been a racist party. There can be no question that the demonization of immigrants – the way that Willie Horton was used in the 1988 presidential election. You go back to the welfare queens and the welfare reform debate – what was happening was the Republicans were arguing that we are with you and the Democrats are with them – them being that sociological other that is lesser than, right.”
He digressed that the Republican Party could have an opportunity on the topic of immigration and said, “…to make it clear that they are repudiating a political strategy that has led them to today having no African-American members of Congress who are Republican and four Cuban Hispanics from Florida, and one temporary Vietnamese member from Louisiana.”
Television commercials have appeared on CNN and Fox News targeting Lou Dobbs. Media Matters purchased commercial space, which states, “It's time for 'The Most Trusted Name in News' to live up to its slogan. Let CNN know there's nothing 'legitimate' about racially charged paranoia."
