Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler 61, fell Wednesday evening at a concert in South Dakota, injuring his head, neck and shoulder.
While on stage Wednesday evening at a concert near the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler was injured when he fell from a catwalk while dancing. Tyler began dancing to entertain the crowd after the microphone system failed, and fell injuring his head, neck and shoulder. He was airlifted by helicopter to the Rapid City Regional Hospital, and hospital spokesmen have not commented on the singer's condition.
Tyler 61, and his band Aerosmith were performing at the Buffalo Chip Campground before a large and enthusiastic crowd when Tyler climbed a catwalk and began dancing during a rendition of the song "Love In An Elevator". As he stepped backward, Tyler fell and landed on the crowd, and was injured. According to witnesses, Tyler was awake and conscious when placed in a helicopter, and was joking with paramedics. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry then took the stage to inform the crowd that the remainder of the concert was canceled.
