British soldier assaulted on Alberta military base

The Royal Military Police, Canadian Forces Military Police and the RCMP are investigating an assault on a British soldier.

The incident, apparently, took place around five a.m. on the Canadian Forces Base at Suffield, Alberta, The Calgary Herald is reporting the victim is a 27 year old male British soldier. The soldier has been transported to hospital in Medicine Hat and was suffering from a life threatening head injury. An RCMP spokesman says the soldier has been taken to a Calgary hospital, however, there is no update on the soldier's condition, at the moment.
