A domestic airliner has crashed on a Thai island. The Bangkok Airways plane ran into a traffic control tower.
At least 70 people were aboard the plane when the accident happened.
There are no
reports of casualties from the
accident that took place on the island of Samui.
China Daily reports:
"The plane was damaged," said the official by telephone from Samui, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the press. "The weather was bad, and it was raining when the plane skidded off."
Airport officials say that the plane was landing during a heavy rain storm.
According to
RTE the flight tower was just 'pinched.'
Reuters is reporting that one person has died and seven more were injured during the crash.
"It hit an unmanned control tower," the island's police chief, Colonal Saharat Saksilpachai, told Reuters. "It's possible the dead person might be the pilot."
