The recent spat of divorce rumors has Sarah Palin's lawyers ready to serve a blogger with libel papers unless a retraction comes. The author, "Gryphen" has been threatened with a summons at the school where he works.
The
blogger is a kindergarten teacher when he's not writing on his The Immoral Minority blog. He says that being served in front of a room of young children is malicious.
Gryphen stands behind his article, saying he only reported on what he was told by a trusted source.
Palin's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein wants a retraction by 3 p.m. Saturday Alaska time or else.
The threat to the
blogger is not a new tactic for Palin. There have been three other threats to bloggers in Alaska in the past weeks. Not one of the threats though have been carried out.
The Huffington Post reports:
Palin's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, wrote a letter to the blogger, asking "if you want to be served with the summons and complaint at the kindergarten where you assist or at your residence."
Single men and women hoping to provide a shoulder for the split couple are being told the rumors aren't true.
The Daily News reports:
"Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent 'story' (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing," spokeswoman Meg Stapleton posted on Palin's Facebook page Saturday.
"The Palins remain married [and] committed to each other and their family," she said.
