article imageMike Huckabee Early Frontrunner; Raises Low Campaign Funds

By Andrew Moran     Jul 31, 2009 in Politics
The winner of the 2008 Republican Iowa Caucuses, Mike Huckabee, is tied in polls with Romney but has raised half of the amount than Sarah Palin.
Throughout recent polls, the former 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has been an early frontrunner but he has not been able to raise enough campaign money to compete with his chief rivals.
Former Governor Huckabee emailed his supporters on Thursday to announce that he has only raised $300,000 throughout the first six months of this year. While his rival from last year, former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney, has raised $1.6 million since January.
Republican Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who recently stepped down as the leader of the northern state, has raised $730,000 until July 1, according to SarahPAC.
Huckabee, who had momentum throughout last year's primaries, and held a stunning win in Iowa, is tied with the two in most polls.
