They might both be wrestling legends, but it appears that Ric Flair and Bret "The Hitman" Hart are fueling their disputes with words rather than fists these days. Flair was recently interviewed in Canada where he described Bret Hart as a "nobody".
According to wrestling news site
Ewrestling, the sixteen time world champion Flair let off some steam in an appearance on the Live Audio Wrestling radio show in Canada.
"He is a pissant in the history of wrestling", Flair boldly stated, also going on to describe him as "a legend in his own mind".
"If you put Bret Hart in your left hand and me in your right hand, compare the career...who is he? I wrestled everybody in the business, for an hour each night. Harley Race, Dory Funk, Jack and Gerry Brisco...Who is Bret Hart? In my world he is a nobody!"
The bad blood between Flair, 60, and Hart, 52, has existed for many years. Its origins are believed to be found within the pages of Flair's autobiography,
To Be The Man, where he criticized Hart for "over-exploiting" the tragic death of his younger brother, Owen. He also claimed that Hart was never a major drawcard at shows in the United States and Europe, despite huge popularity in his homeland of Canada.
Hart's side of the argument came in response to Flair's claims, noting several sold-out headline appearances across the States. He has also gone on record as calling Flair "the most overrated guy in the history of the business".
