As Sarah Palin ends her tenure as Governor of Alaska, analysts and pundits are making their views known about the former Vice-Presidential nominee. The recent is a Republican strategist.
A lot of constituents, pundits, analysts, politicians and the rest of the world have their own views about the now former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. The recent view comes from Republican strategist Alex Castellanos who believes she is just another Mike Huckabee. Mr. Huckabee was the former Governor of Arkansas who briefly had momentum during the 2008 Republican Presidential Primaries when he pulled out a stunning win in Iowa.
The political consultant to Mitt Romney’s bid for the White House said on Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union, “I’ve been a supporter of Sarah Palin — at times. She gave the McCain campaign its best two weeks. But, you know, if we’re going to be critical of Democrats when they shirk their responsibilities, we have do the same within our own house. She abandoned her state in the middle of a term.”
Mr. Castellanos told CNN’s Chief National Correspondent John King, “We’re going to have a division in the Right in the Republican Party. We now have two Mike Huckabees – people who have a powerful force in the party but can’t get out of the party in a general election and win.”
Governor Palin stepped down Sunday and transferred her powers to the lieutenant-governor Sean Parnell. When Conservative radio talk show host was asked about Mrs. Palin, he responded, “I have no opinion about this. I really don’t know what’s going to happen with Sarah Palin.”
CNN contributor, Democratic strategist and former Democratic consultant Paul Begala hopes Sarah Palin runs for the Republican nomination and wins, “I hope she’s their nominee because I think she’s the easiest to beat.”
Sarah Palin seems to be the laughing stock of Washington. Many within the two parties have had laughs regarding Mrs. Palin, whether it was her interview with Katie Couric where she couldn’t name newspapers she reads or a Saturday Night Live parody of the former governor.
However, not all politicians view her as a punch line. Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell told CNN Sunday, “Boy, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Sarah Palin. She excites an awful lot of members of my party. They’re anxious to see what she’s going to do next and so am I.”
