Gun control is being back doored into existence by a resolution in the United States House of Representatives. Stand by to give up your guns?
The issue of gun control is one which is nearly as touchy as abortion and to some people is even more of an issue (mostly men).
HR45 is the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act sponsored by Bobby Rush (D-Illinois)
The objective of the act is purported to be one of safety and keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those incapable of making sane choices and ne'er do wells of all sorts.
The result of the act though will be far reaching and will eventually make it nearly impossible to own a gun in a nation which carries the right to bear arms as part of our Constitution!
Under the Blair Holt act, to own a gun:
It must be registered ( so the government can track it)
You are fingerprinted ( so the government can track you)
You supply a current drivers license (more tracking and exclusions)
You supply a Social Security number. (more tracking)
And you must submit to mental and physical examinations at any time of the governments choosing.
With the government determining who is or is not 'fit' to own a gun, it may be a bit difficult to appeal a ruling which states a person isn't mentally of physically capable of owning a firearm.
Which is directly opposed by the second Amendment of the US Constitution..... isn't it?
