The World Boxing Council heavyweight championship bout between Vitali “Dr. Ironfist” Klitschko and David Haye is scheduled to take place this coming September 12 at the Commerzbank Arena in the city of Frankfurt.
Coming off a successful title defence against his mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Gomez, the Ukrainian WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, 37-2, 36 KO’s, the elder brother of the IBF/WBO/IBO and Ring Magazine heavyweight titles holder Wladimir Klitschko, is reportedly set to defend his WBC heavyweight title against the Briton heavyweight contender David Haye, a former undisputed cruiserweight world champion. The match will take place at the Commerzbank Arena, which is the soccer stadium of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
On 11 October 2008, after a long layoff, Vitali Klitschko, who won his WBC heavyweight title in 2004 over former world champion Corrie Sanders, scored an ninth-round TKO over former world heavyweight champion Samuel Peter to regain his WBC heavyweight title that he vacated in 2005 when he announced his retirement due to a series of injuries he suffered during his training preparation, which forced him to pull out of his WBC mandatory title defence against former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman.

Initially, the Briton David Haye was supposed to meet Vitali’s brother Wladimir Klitschko on July 20 at the Veltins Arane in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, but had to pull out of that fight due to an injury he suffered during his training preparation for that fight against Wladimir Klitschko.
Haye turned professional in 2002, where his fights aired on BBC drew a wide audience. He has defeated boxers such as Monte Barrett, Enzo Maccarinelli and Garry Delaney.
An official statement from the Klitschko’s Management Group regarding Vitali Klitschko vs. David Haye is expected to be issued anytime later.
